Cumulus, together with Fera, developed a GHG emissions baseline for five Protected Landscapes in Yorkshire, and estimated the potential for reducing emissions and increasing carbon storage and sequestration through the adoption of regenerative farming practices. The modelling involved combining a variety of different data sets and developing regenerative farm types for LFA livestock grazing, lowland grazing, dairy and arable farming. Alongside, we produced nine case studies outlining how farmers had adopted regenerative practices and how these had impacted financial and environmental outcomes. We then developed an Action Plan together with the five Protected Landscape Organisations and the York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority to accelerate the regenerative farming transition across North Yorkshire.
