We completed a natural capital assessment for Glynde Estates. We worked closely with the Estates to accurately map out the natural capital assets they have and the valuable services they provide to society. These assets include a wide range of nationally important habitats and species including high-quality calcareous grassland, ancient coppice woodland and numerous rare orchid species. We went on to use a wealth of gathered data to gauge the condition of these assets and services and evaluated how the Estate’s core enterprises depend on and impact the natural capital assets identified. Using this information we ranked the major risks and opportunities associated with the Estate’s natural capital. This assessment provided the foundation for us to work with the team at Glynde Estates to develop an Estate-wide natural capital strategy to enhance the performance of the Estate’s core enterprises and its environmental, economic and social sustainability.
