This project involved producing a natural capital assessment and strategy for Kilnsey Park Estate, North Yorkshire. We mapped out the natural capital assets and ecosystem services provided, ranked the major risks and opportunities and worked with landowner to develop an Estate-wide natural capital strategy to enhance the performance of the Estate’s core enterprises and its environmental, economic and social sustainability. We worked with the Estate and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority to communicate the results and lessons learned from this FIPL funded project and the value of a taking natural capital approach to other farms and estates across the National Park. Associated work included providing advice on a BNG site and part-private funded river restoration project. We are now delighted to be involved with the follow-on Upper Wharfdale Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund (NEIRF) project.
