Why Cumulus
Our team of consultants have over 30 years’ experience in the industry with a breadth of expertise ranging from farming, forestry and fisheries to the environment, natural capital and the rural economy.

The combination of our knowledge of theory and principles, joined with our extensive practical knowledge, gives us a unique ability to bring insights and fresh perspectives as we develop innovative solutions to the challenges our clients face.
We believe that the quality of the relationships we have with our clients is core to the success of each project and therefore, we take time to get to know you and to understand the nature and scope of the challenges you are facing.
The result is that many of our clients have come back to us over the years, and together, we have been able to develop long term sustainable solutions that will preserve and sustain the countryside for generations to come.
Capitals Coalition
Cumulus is a member of the Capitals Coalition – a global collaboration transforming the way decisions are made by including the value provided by nature, people and society. The Capitals Coalition encompasses the work of the earlier Natural Capital Coalition, including the ground-breaking Natural Capital Protocol which we were delighted to trial for the land-based and forestry sectors in 2017-2019.
Cumulus has close ties with a range of other organisations involved with promoting and applying a natural capital approach. We are excited to share knowledge and learning in this area through initiatives such as the ‘Embedding Natural Capital’ labs run by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. These are attended by professionals from sectors as diverse as food, fashion and chemicals drawing on supply chains from around the world.

Cumulus Consultants is pleased to be able to contribute to several of the United Nations 17 Goals for achieving Sustainable Development through its work with a variety of clients:

End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture

Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
